Esterline Technologies: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) _ Esterline Technologies Corp. (ESL) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $27.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Bellevue, Washington-based company said it had profit of 94 cents. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were $1 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.

The aerospace and defense supplier posted revenue of $499.9 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $469.7 million.

Esterline Technologies expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.65 to $3.85 per share, with revenue in the range of $2 billion to $2.05 billion.

Esterline Technologies shares have climbed 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $83.95, a fall of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
