Time for some big fun! Riverdale just announced the musical they'll be covering for their third season and it's another fun, dark, throwback show. The characters will be putting on Heathers: The Musical as their big production this year. If you've never seen the movie or listened to the musical's soundtrack, there's plenty of time to do so before the episode airs.

Here's everything you need to know about Riverdale's Heathers: The Musical episode:

It's new territory for some of the cast.

Despite her background in music, Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie, admitted she didn't know anything about Heathers The Musical until it was announced that they would be performing it on the show. "I think we were all just introduced to the musical when it became part of the episode," she told Seventeen. Of course, the director, Kevin, was a little familiar with the story and songs so he feels the pressure that comes with Riverdale High's performance. "I know a couple of the people that were in the most recent production and they sing their faces off, so I hope we do them justice," Casey Cott told Seventeen.

Unlike last seasons Carrie, Heathers will feature more camaraderie among the cast. "There’s this really beautiful moment where the entire cast is on stage together and it was really cool to do that cause we don’t get to get all together that often," said Casey.

While the story of Heathers may be new for some, anyone who watches Riverdale will recognize the theme of high school horror that fits so perfectly with both storylines. Heathers The Musical, for those who don't know, is about a girl named Veronica who, at first longs for popularity, but then realizes she needs to rid her high school of the popular clique, by any means necessary. AKA it's about high school, cliques, relationships, and murder. The perfect fit for Riverdale.

Archie will be sporting a new look.

The actors of Riverdale are getting REALLY into their musical characters and that means a new look for Archie who will be playing Kurt Kelly in Heathers: The Musical.

KJ Apa showed off Archie's new look on his Instagram and he looks SO different in the new photo.

Who will be in the musical?

The cast list for the musical was released and it's definitely interesting who will be playing who. Check out the list below:

Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) will take on lead role, Veronica Sawyer, while Sweat Pea (Jordan Connor) will be playing her love interest J.D. Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), Veronica (Camila Mendes), and Betty (Lili Reinhart) will be playing the three Heathers.

In a big spoiler after the crazy mid-season finale, Archie (KJ Apa) will be playing Kurt Kelly. Other characters that will be playing smaller roles include, Reggie Mantle, Peaches N' Cream, Fangs Fogarty, Evelyn Evernever, and Toni Topaz.

Leading the gang as the musical's director will be Kevin Keller, who says he'll also be in the musical as Peter Dawson, who was cut when the musical premiered. Jughead won't be in the musical, but he will be in charge of security, which means there will likely be more Serpents appearing in the episode.

What songs are they doing?

As with the Carrie musical episode, the cast won't be doing all of the songs in the musical. However, it's likely they'll take on its most popular numbers like "Big Fun" (which is also the name of the episode), "Candy Store," and "Dead Girl Walking."

The cast also released a special album for the Carrie episode, so it's a safe bet they'll do the same for Heathers.

Any other hidden clues about the episode?

While the main announcement over the musical and the cast has everyone talking, there's a big hidden clue in the announcement sheet. On the top of the sheet, it says, "sponsored by The Farm," which means they will be involved with the production. Also, with Evelyn in the musical, they already have someone within the production to shake things up.

So what exactly will happen? Nothing else has been announced for it yet, but it'll definitely be interesting if The Farm is involved.

Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also shared a photo of Cheryl ripping apart a love note to her. Maybe she'll be getting a secret admirer?
