COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Express Inc. (EXPR) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $2.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 3 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 1 cent per share.
The clothing and accessories chain posted revenue of $493.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $487.2 million.
Express expects full-year earnings to be 43 cents to 49 cents per share.
Express shares have fallen nearly 2 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 51 percent in the last 12 months.
