Fort Smith, Paris go remote for Thursday. Here's a full list of closures and delays
With the Arkansas River Valley under a winter storm warning through Thursday, area schools and agencies have announced closures due to sleet and ice accumulation.
Across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, accumulations of up to around one inch of sleet and around half an inch of ice are possible.
Cedarville Public Schools
Cedarville Public Schools will utilize alternative methods of instruction (AMI) for Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
According to the Cedarville Elementary Facebook page, packets were sent home with students on Tuesday, Feb. 22 and need to be completed by Wednesday, March 2.
Crawford County Adult Education Center
The Crawford County Adult Education Center is closed on Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24 for inclement weather.
Fort Smith Public Schools
Fort Smith Public Schools will pivot to remote learning on Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24. Families can find more information on remote learning on the district website.
Fort Smith Adult Education Center
The Fort Smith Adult Education Center will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
Future School of Fort Smith
The Future School of Fort Smith will be pivoting to virtual instruction on Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.

Greenwood School District
The Greenwood School District will move to online instruction for Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
"Please refer to your child's teacher or individual schools social media pages for additional instruction," the district posted on Facebook.
Immaculate Conception School
Immaculate Conception School will utilize alternative methods of instruction (AMI) for Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
Paris School District
Paris School District will utilize alternative methods of instruction (AMI) for Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
Trinity Catholic School
Trinity Catholic School will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
The school posted on Facebook that students should log into virtual classes "each period today using the regular bell schedule."
Union Christian Academy
Union Christian Academy students will have cyber days Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
University of Arkansas-Fort Smith
The UAFS campus will be closed and all in-person classes will be canceled Wednesday and Thursday due to inclement weather.
Chancellor Terisa Riley said that the university has no plans to close Friday.
Online classes will be held at their regularly scheduled times unless students are notified by the instructor.
University police will remain on campus to assist with emergencies and monitor road and sidewalk conditions.
The Boreham Library will be closed. Each dormitory will have a resident assistant on call to assist with resident needs. The Housing Office will remain open Wednesday for students to receive mail and any assistance.
The Lion’s Den Dining Hall will move to brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Campus Center Food Court will close.
"This is not a remote pivot," Riley said in a statement. "... We will continue to monitor the weather and send updates to our operations."

Van Buren School District
The Van Buren School District will utilize alternative methods of instruction (AMI) for Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.
"Teachers will communicate with students/families regarding assignment details," the district posted on its Facebook page. "All campuses & district buildings will be closed."
