GM & Ford rally, Nexstar makes major acquisition, Victoria’s Secret blasted

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team is watching for you today.

Two of the Big 3 are in focus. GM and Ford are on the upswing after President Trump tweeted that China has agreed to cut tariffs on U.S. cars. No other details have been released and there’s no confirmation yet from Beijing.

And there’s a big deal in the TV world. Nexstar is buying Tribune Media for more than $4 billion. That would create the nation’s largest local TV group with more than 210 stations across the country. Regulators will likely require some of those stations be spun off to other buyers.

Plus, there are more troubles today for L Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret. The singer Halsey posted a statement denouncing the company’s marketing director at the same time her taped performance at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was airing. Marketing director Ed Razek has apologized for saying he didn’t think transgender or plus-sized models should be in the show.

Nvidia is teasing its new graphics card on social media. Some key influencers have been showing off the new Titan RTX card online. In what appears to be a coordinated campaign. It’s not clear when the card will launch. The price tag is expected to top a thousand dollars.

It’s a little cheaper to get your hands on a Microsoft X-Box One. The company’s offering an extra $50 off the console bundles. That’s not as good as the deals they offered on Black Friday. So far, Sony’s not making any moves to counter it.
