Harry Potter fans are not happy with Johnny Depp's casting in the next Fantastic Beasts film.

It was announced yesterday that the actor would play the titular villain, Gellert Grindelwald, in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which is out at the end of 2018. Jude Law was revealed as a young Professor Dumbledore.

However, not all fans are pleased with Depp's casting following domestic abuse allegations made by his former partner, Amber Heard, in 2016 - claims he consistently denied. She filed for divorce and obtained a restraining order.

A domestic violence case was dismissed and the case was settled out of court for an estimated $7 million (£5.6 million), which she pledged to donate to two charities, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

However, many took to Twitter to voice their concerns over Depp's role in the film in the wake of the allegations, and claim they were going to boycott the film.
