Huntsman: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) _ Huntsman Corp. (HUN) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $340 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The The Woodlands, Texas-based company said it had a loss of $1.43 per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations and non-recurring costs, were 52 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 55 cents per share.

The chemical company posted revenue of $2.24 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.12 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $337 million, or $1.39 per share. Revenue was reported as $9.38 billion.

Huntsman shares have climbed 15 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 28 percent in the last 12 months.
