A private cruise line and a dental startup company have announced new general counsel.

The private, invitation-only cruise company, inCruises International, based in Florida, announced the hiring of Bruce Murdock as its general counsel on Nov. 9. He will be responsible for the oversight of the cruise line’s legal, regulatory and governance responsibilities, and report to the company’s president and CEO Michael Hutchison. It was not clear who, if anyone, Murdock is replacing as the company's top lawyer. A representative for inCruises could not be reached for comment.

In a news release, Hutchison said he is excited to welcome Murdock as the company’s top lawyer.

“Bruce is a leader with outstanding judgment and tremendous business acumen. Bruce is a terrific addition to inCruises as we continue to accelerate our leadership position as a global brand with a rich heritage in business ownership, vacation travel, long-standing values, and the responsibility to use our global reach for good,” Hutchison said.

Before joining inCruises, Murdock served as corporate counsel and the assistant general counsel of Neways Inc., currently known as Modere Inc. He has a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

“I look forward to using my skills and experience to help advance inCruises’s vision and mission around the world,” Murdock said in a statement.

In other moves, Swanky Smiles, dental startup with mobile orthodontic services in more than 40 U.S. cities, announced it has hired Kevin Dillard as its general counsel. Dillard is the company’s second general counsel and started his new position at the end of September. Dillard previously was the general counsel of the American Association of Orthodontists. He holds a law degree from the St. Louis University School of Law in Missouri.

“I’m excited to join the Swanky Smiles team—I see it as the gold standard for combining patient care and treatment with convenience,” Dillard said in a news release.
