  • The insider added that the sisters-in-law were "genuine and sweet together."

Don't get it twisted: Duchess Kate and Duchess Meghan's friendship is only getting stronger. A source recently told People that the bond between the two royal moms is "strengthening" and that they were "genuine and sweet together" when they made a joint appearance at Wimbledon last Saturday.

There was even a sweet show of affection from Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, when Serena Williams, a close friend of Meghan's, lost in the women's final. "Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan's back to console her," an eyewitness told the outlet.

The duchesses' joint appearance comes after months of feud rumors alleging a rift between Meghan and Kate, particularly surrounding the Sussexes’ decision to move out of Kensington Palace to lead a more private royal life in Windsor with their growing family. The sisters-in-law have since appeared together in public a number of times, from Christmas service to a casual family polo outing. However, Wimbledon marked the first time the pair stepped out just the two of them—though with Kate's sister, Pippa—since the reports broke, proving there's no bad blood between them.

As they smiled and chatted in their seats, the duchesses continued to squash speculation of any tensions. "It illustrated a warm relationship between these women who have young babies and are in similar situations in their lives," royal commentator Victoria Arbiter told People.

It will be heartwarming to see how Kate and Meghan's relationship evolves as they raise their children together and continue to influence the monarchy.
