NEW YORK (AP) _ KCAP Financial Inc. (KCAP) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 7 cents per share.

The business development company posted revenue of $6.8 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.35. A year ago, they were trading at $3.38.
