Kendis Gibson Joins MSNBC As Weekend Anchor
Kendis Gibson has joined MSNBC as a weekend anchor beginning later this month. The NBCUniversal-owned cable news network has confirmed Gibson will anchor MSNBC Live weekends from 2-4 PM ET beginning Saturday, January 19. The move comes amid MSNBC’s continued expansion of its live weekend news programming.
Gibson moves to MSNBC from ABC News, where he most recently had anchored World News Now and America This Morning. He was the first network correspondent at the 2015 Santa Barbara oil spill, according to his ABC News bio. He also reported on the FIFA soccer scandal in Switzerland and covered the shooting of an unarmed black man by a white police officer in South Carolina.
Prior to ABC News, Gibson had spent time at local and national networks. He was an anchor and reporter based in Washington, D.C. during the Obama presidency. He also worked as a primetime anchor for Fox and as an entertainment anchor at CNN.
