Kia, Toyota, Land Rover among more than 247,000 vehicles recalled. Check recalls here.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including nearly 99,000 Kia Sportage SUVs for a possible braking issue and more than 96,000 2022-2023 Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid SUVs for a front-passenger airbag issue.
Land Rover is also recalling nearly 13,000 of its 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles for a potential rear taillight issue and more than 29,600 of its 2017-2020 Land Rover Discovery vehicles for a keyless entry problem that could lead to rear passenger doors being able to be opened while in motion.
Car owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls. The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number, or VIN.

Kia Sportage recall for loss of power brake assist
Kia is recalling 98,944 of its 2023 Sportage SUVs because the brake booster diaphragm may become misaligned and cause an internal vacuum leak, which can result in a loss of power brake assist. A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash, according to an NHTSA report.
Kia will inspect and replace the brake booster as necessary, free of charge. Letters to owners are expected to be mailed on July 21. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC272.

Toyota Corolla Cross SUVs recalled for air bag issue
Toyota is recalling 96,007 of its 2022-2023 Corolla Cross hybrid SUVs because the instrument panel may have been produced without the required perforation, which could result in the front passenger air bag not deploying properly. An air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury during a crash, the company said in a safety report.
Toyota will notify owners by mail on July 10. Dealers will inspect and replace the instrument panel, if necessary, free of charge.

Mercedes-Benz electric sedans recalled for loss of drive power software error
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 8,281 of its 2022-2023 EQS 450, AMG EQS, EQS 580 and 2023 AMG EQE electric-powered sedans because a software error in the electric drivetrain may cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash, the company said in a safety recall report sent to NHTSA.Dealers will update the electric drivetrain software, free of charge. Mercedes-Benz will mail notification letters to owners on Aug. 4.

Jayco recalls RVs for solar panel issue
Jayco is recalling 103 of its 2023 Jayco Swift, Swift LI, Entegra Ethos and Ethos LI recreational vehicles because the solar panel may detach from the Pop-Up roof and become a road hazard. Dealers will install new brackets, free of charge. Jayco will notify owners by mail by July 17. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903586.

Land Rover recalls Range Rover SUVs for rear taillight failure
Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 12,922 of its 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs because the rear taillight link may be damaged, which can cause exterior vehicle lights, including the rear light mounted in the body, taillights, brake lights and turn signals to fail to illuminate. This could result in one or more of the light sources not working which in darkness, means the vehicle may not be clearly seen from the rear, which increases the risk of a crash, the company said in a safety report.
Jaguar Land Rover will notify owners by mail on July 28 and dealers will inspect and replace or repair the rear lights as necessary, free of charge.

Subaru recalls a few Ascent SUVs for ball joint concern
Subaru is recalling five 2023 Ascent SUVs because the left or right front lower control arm may have an improperly tightened ball joint castle nut which can result in retention pin failure and separation of the ball joint from the lower control arm. If the ball joint separates from the lower control arm while driving the vehicle may experience a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash, the company said in a safety report filed with NHTSA.
The driver may notice abnormal noise and/or vibration from the front suspension, the company said. Subaru notify owners by mail on June 30; the company will inspect and, if necessary, replace the lower control arm, free of charge.

Land Rover recalls Discovery SUVs for rear passenger door issue
Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 29,861 of its 2017-2020 Land Rover Discovery SUVs because the UniLatch Keyless Vehicle entry function may fail to properly latch the rear passenger doors, which can result in the doors opening while driving. This can increase the risk of a vehicle crash or compromise the safety of vehicle occupants, the company said in a safety report. In addition, the instrument cluster open-door warning light may fail to alert the driver of this condition.
Jaguar Land Rover will disable the UniLatch Keyless Vehicle (KV) entry function, free of charge. The company will mail notification letters to owners on July 28.

Bentley Bentayga recall for second-row seat lock issue
Bentley Motors is recalling 1,008 of its 2022-2023 Bentayga 5-seat SUVs. The second-row seats may be installed incorrectly and not locked on all seat rails. An unlocked seat rail can move in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to occupants, the company said in a safety report.
Bentley will notify owners by mail on June 26 and will check and reset the second-row seat rail positions to ensure proper engagement of the seat rails, free of charge.

Bugatti 2023 Chiron Super Sport recall for incorrect wheel installation
Bugatti is recalling one 2023 Chiron Super Sport vehicle because the incorrect wheels were installed on the vehicle. When driving in Top Speed Mode, the incorrect wheels may result in a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash, NHTSA said in a recall report.
Bugatti planned to notify the owner by mail on June 12; the wheels will be replaced, along with brand-new tires, valves and sensors, free of charge.

Chrysler Alfa Romeo recall for potential ceramic brake rotor fracture
Chrysler is recalling 719 of its 2017-2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia sedans and 2018-2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUVs equipped with carbon ceramic matrix brakes. During certain driving maneuvers, the brake system may exert an excessive clamp force that may fracture the rotor, decreasing the brake performance. An unexpected decrease in brake performance can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning, the company said in a safety report.
Chrysler will notify owners on July 19; dealers will update the brake system module software, free of charge.
