DALLAS (AP) _ Kimberly-Clark Corp. (KMB) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $411 million.

On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had net income of $1.18. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and pretax expenses, came to $1.60 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.68 per share.

The maker of consumer products such as Huggies diapers and Kleenex tissue posted revenue of $4.57 billion in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.46 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.41 billion, or $4.03 per share. Revenue was reported as $18.49 billion.

Kimberly-Clark expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.50 to $6.70 per share.

Kimberly-Clark shares have climbed 1 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 5 percent. The stock has decreased slightly in the last 12 months.
