Les'Copaque proud of "Upin & Ipin"

21 Oct – Local animated movie "Upin & Ipin" is arguably one of the most successful local animations, having made it big not only in Malaysia but also internationally.
It was not an overnight success, however, as Les' Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd.'s Managing Director Burhanuddin Md Radzi revealed that there were many obstacles and challenges they had to face during the production of "Upin & Ipin".
"The biggest challenge was making sure that the voice actors didn't sound superficial, that the voices match the characters and liven up the atmosphere," said the managing director to Harian Metro.
He added that the production team would usually do auditions to find the perfect voice for each character. This was to ensure that they would find voice actors who knew how to carry their characters and not merely read the script.
The team would also prioritise quality. Before the animation production began, they would do a voice recording session first. If everything went well, only then would the animation process begin.
Burhanuddin shared that the "Upin & Ipin" animation is now a phenomenon in Indonesia. In fact, its popularly has increased after being purchased by Disney Channel in countries such as India, Singapore, The Philippines and several other Asian countries.
