No. 1 Alabama 47, No. 24 Texas A&M 28

Alabama hasn’t won a game by fewer than 24 points this season.

The Crimson Tide didn’t keep the streak alive, but they are still undefeated.

The Crimson Tide led 24-13 at halftime but scored the first 10 points of the third quarter and never looked back.

A&M closed the deficit to 34-20 on a 25-yard TD pass from Kellen Mond to Jalen Wydermyer with 5:06 left in the third, but Alabama regained its three-TD lead on a 2-yard scoring run from Brian Robinson Jr. with 13:02 left in the game. The extra point was blocked.

Alabama, however, got revenge as it blocked a punt for a score for a 27-point lead, but Mond and Wydermyer connected for another score with 8:48 remaining. Mond ran in on the two-point conversion to make it 47-28.

Tagovailoa threw two first-quarter TD passes as the Tide (5-0, 2-0 SEC) started strong against the Aggies (3-2, 1-1).

It was just 17-10 in the second quarter, however, before a big punt return from Jaylen Waddle led to a 16-yard TD pass from Tagovailoa to Najee Harris for a two-touchdown lead.

A&M fumbled on its next possession deep in its own territory, but Tagovailoa was intercepted in the end zone by Demani Richardson, ending the threat.

The Aggies drove deep into Alabama territory on their next possession but settled for a 32-yard field goal from Seth Small on the final play of the first half, making it 24-13.

No. 2 Clemson 45, Florida State 14

The Tigers (5-0, 3-0 ACC) are all over the Seminoles (3-2, 2-1). Trevor Lawrence has passed for three TDs and ran for another score for Clemson, which is on its way to a fifth straight win over its Atlantic Division rivals.

FSU got on the board late in the third on a 64-yard TD pass from Alex Hornibrook to Tamorrion Terry.

South Carolina 20, No. 3 Georgia 17 (2 OTs)

The Bulldogs (5-1, 2-1 SEC) are undefeated no more.

Rodrigo Blankenship, who opened the scoring with a 50-yard field goal, missed one to end the second overtime as the Gamecocks (3-3, 2-2) pulled off an epic upset.

Georgia QB Jake Fromm, who hadn’t thrown an interception all season, threw his third of the game to Israel Mukuamu on its possession in the first OT, so all South Carolina needed was a field goal to win.

After three running plays, Parker White missed wide right on a 33-yard field goal. It was White’s first miss from within 50 yards this season.

South Carolina got the ball first in the second overtime. After being stopped short on third-and-1 at the 16, the Gamecocks went for it on fourth-and-1 — and converted on an 8-yard run from Rico Dowdle. But they couldn’t get into the end zone and settled for a White field goal.

Georgia went nowhere on its possession before Blankenship’s miss.

A 6-yard TD pass from Fromm to Demetris Robertson capped a 13-play, 96-yard drive and tied the score with 1:48 left in regulation. Georgia drove to South Carolina’s 15-yard line, but on fourth-and-6 from the 11 the Gamecocks were called for defensive holding, giving the Bulldogs a first and goal from the 6 with 1:53 left. They scored on the next play.

South Carolina missed a long field goal with 40 second left in regulation on its next possession, giving Georgia the ball at its own 40. Georgia drove into South Carolina territory but could not score at the end of regulation.

Mukuamu intercepted Fromm and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown with a minute left in the first half to break a 10-10 tie. It was Fromm’s first interception of the season.

There was no scoring in the third quarter, but Georgia was driving as the fourth quarter began. The Bulldogs, however, fumbled the QB/center exchange on the first play of the final quarter and South Carolina recovered.

Fromm again was driving toward a tying score later in the quarter but was intercepted by Mukuamu with 9:25 to play.

Gamecocks QB Ryan Hilinski, who was 13-of-16 passing for 117 yards and a score in the first half, was injured in the third quarter. He was replaced by Dakereon Joyner.

D'Andre Swift gave Georgia a 10-7 lead on a 1-yard TD run in the second quarter, but White hit a 49-yard field goal with three minutes left in the first half to tie the score.

South Carolina took a 7-3 lead on a 46-yard TD pass from Hilinski to Bryan Edwards late in the first quarter.

No. 5 LSU 42, No. 7 Florida 28

Florida has held its own for most of the night in Death Valley, but the Tigers were just too much.

Starting QB Kyle Trask had Florida’s offense cooking early as he went toe-to-toe with LSU QB Joe Burrow.

But LSU’s offense simply overpowered a usually stout Florida defense.

No. 6 Oklahoma 34, No. 11 Texas 27

Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb caugh 10 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Sooners to a victory in the Red River Shootout in Dallas.

It was back and fourth throughout.

Texas QB Sam Ehlinger scored on a 2-yard run on an untimed down to end the third quarter as the Longhorns pulled within three points entering the fourth quarter.

But Oklahoma answered with a TD pass from Jalen Hurts to Lamb to regain a 10-point lead. Texas cut it to seven on a Cameron Dicker field goal with 6:53 to play, but a Hurts TD run made it a two-score game with 4:19 left in regulation. Ehlinger cut the deficit in half with another TD run with 1:49 left.

In the third quarter, Lamb was on the receiving end of a flea flicker and made a beautiful run for a 51-yard score and a 17-10 lead.

After holding Texas on its next drive, Oklahoma got good field position and marched into the red zone. The drive stalled and the Sooners had to settle for a second Gabe Brkic field goal for a 10-point lead.

Earlier in the third, Texas finally found the end zone.

Roschon Johnson — who started the season as Texas' third-string quarterback — scored on a 4-yard run with 8:48 left in the third quarter. The score was set up by this Johnson run.

Oklahoma opened the game with a 10-play, 56-yard touchdown drive — capped by a 1-yard TD pass from Jalen Hurts to Lamb on fourth down — and added a short field goal late in the second quarter for a 10-point lead.

Dicker kicked a field goal on the final play of the first half for the Longhorns’ only score.

In between there has been a lot of defense, led by LB Kenneth Murray and the Sooners. Texas had just 83 yards of offense in the first half.

After OU’s opening score, Texas went three and out on its first possession. Oklahoma was marching toward another score before Hurts fumbled and it was recovered by the Longhorns at their own 7-yard line.

Hurts was 7-of-8 passing in the first quarter for 47 yards and a score. He also ran for 48 yards on six carries, but his turnovers hurt the Sooners. After driving OU from its own 5 into the red zone, Texas’ Brandon Jones picked off Hurts in the end zone, ending another threat.

The Sooners (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) and Longhorns (4-1, 2-0) got after it early.

Every player from both teams got an unsportsmanlike conduct foul — well before the game even started. And the ref called it an embarrassment.

Oklahoma played without star TE Grant Calcaterra, who did not dress for the game.

No. 8 Wisconsin 38, Michigan State 0

The Badgers (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) built a 17-point halftime lead on a Jonathan Taylor TD run, Jack Coan TD pass and a field goal vs. the Spartans (4-2, 2-1), who held Heisman hopeful Taylor to less than 100 yards through three quarters. Taylor added a second TD run early in the fourth.

A pick-six from the Badgers has put the game well out of reach, and this 66-yard TD run Kendric Pryor completed the scoring — and is worth a look.

No. 9 Notre Dame 30, USC 27

Freshman QB Kedon Slovis nearly led the Trojans (3-3) in a second-half rally against the Irish (5-1) after falling behind by 17 early in the second half.

But Notre Dame hung on.

The two teams got into it as they were walking to the tunnel for halftime.

It got so bad the referee called unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on ... UCLA?

No. 10 Penn State 17, No. 17 Iowa 12

QB Sean Clifford and the Nittany Lions (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) stood tall in their toughest test of the season against the Hawkeyes (4-2, 1-2), whose late comeback bid fell short.

And that’s despite the fact that Iowa was helped when an apparent Nittany Lions touchdown in the second half was overturned in a controversial ruling.

No. 15 Utah 52, Oregon State 7

QB Tyler Huntley has thrown two TD passes, Zack Moss has two running scores — and the defense recorded a pick-six — as the Utes (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) rolled the Beavers (2-4, 1-2).

No. 16 Michigan 42, Illinois 25

The Wolverines (5-1, 3-1 Big Ten) used touchdown runs from Hassan Haskins and Zach Charbonnet,and two TD passes from Shea Patterson to build a four-touchdown lead, but the Illini (2-4, 0-3) scored 25 straight points until Shea Patterson hit Donovan Peoples-Jones with a 5-yard TD. Michigan was able to pull away late for the victory.

No. 18 Arizona State 38, Washington State 34

QB Jayden Daniels ran for a 17-yard TD with 34 seconds left to give the Sun Devils the victory.

Washington State’s Blake Mazza kicked a 31-yard field goal with 2:30 left to break a 31-31 tie.

Eno Benjamin’s 32-yard TD run in the third quarter gave the Sun Devils (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) a 24-17 lead — their first lead of the game — but it didn’t last long as the Cougars (3-3, 0-3) got even with Anthony Gordon’s third touchdown pass of the game and regained the lead on a 2-yard scoring run from Max Borghi late in the third.

Arizona State tied it with 11:19 left in regulation on a 33-yard TD pass from Daniels to Brandon Aiyuk.

Gordon and the Cougars jumped out to a double-digit lead in the second quarter, but the Sun Devils scored 10 points in the final 1:55 of the first half — including a 31-yard field goal by Christian Zendejas on the final play — to tie the score 17-17 at the break.

Louisville 62, No. 19 Wake Forest 59

The Demon Deacons (5-1, 1-1 ACC) saw their historic start to the season come to a crashing halt as the Cardinals (4-2, 2-1) puled the upset in a wild shootout.

Louisville nearly blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead but managed to hang on.

No. 22 Baylor 34, Texas Tech 30 (2 OT)

The Bears (6-0, 3-0 BIg 12) are tied with Oklahoma for the Big 12 lead.

JaMycal Hasty scored on a 5-yard run in the second overtime for the victory after Texas Tech had to settle for a field goal on its second possession of overtime.

The Bears got the ball first in OT and, after a penalty, Charlie Brewer hit Denzel Mims on a 32-yard play to get to the 1. Brewer had his third TD run on the next play for a 27-20 lead.

Texas Tech (3-3, 1-2) had to score a TD or the game was over. On third-and-10 from the 25, QB Jett Duffey ran for eight yards to set up fourth-and-2 from the 17. SaRodorick Thompson just got the first down. The Red Raiders then scored on a great T.J. Vasher grab to send the game into double overtime.

Baylor forced overtime on John Mayers’ 19-yard field goal as regulation expired.

The teams combined for just three field goals in the first half, but they opened it up in the second half.

Thompson has two second-half TD runs, the last one gave the Red Raiders the lead with 1:37 left.

Two third-quarter TD runs from Brewer had put the Bears in front.

Temple 30, No. 23 Memphis 28

The Tigers (5-1, 1-1 AAC) were upset by he Owls (5-1, 2-0), who took a 16-0 first-half lead and held on for the victory.

A controversial replay overturn doomed Memphis.

No. 25 Cincinnati 38, Houston 23

Desmond Ridde had three TD passes and a TD run as the Bearcats (5-1, 2-0 AAC) lead the Cougars (2-4, 0-2), whose rough season under first-year coach Dana Holgorsen continues.

Miami 17, No. 20 Virginia 9 (Friday)

There’s more upheaval in the ACC Coastal.

The Cavaliers (4-2, 2-1 ACC) were the only unbeaten team in the division, but that ended against the Hurricanes (3-3, 1-2). Last season, Pitt won the division with a 6-2 conference record despite finishing 7-7 overall.

Virginia not only lost the game but also lost CB Bryce Hall, a potential early 2020 NFL draft pick, to a significant leg injury.

No. 13 Oregon 45, Colorado 3

Justin Herbert threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns, while Cyrus Habibi-Likio rushed for three TDs as the Ducks cruised to their fifth straight victory.

Jaylon Redd rushed for a TD and caught a pass for another score for the Ducks (5-1, 3-0), who are 3-0 in Pac-12 play for the first time since 2013.

Steven Montez threw four picks for Colorado (3-3, 1-2).
