Man shares ingenious trick stranger used to return his missing wallet
A man has shared the clever method a stranger used to return his missing wallet.
Tim Cameron, a product manager, took to Twitter to publicly thank a stranger, later identified as Simon, who returned his wallet despite a lack of “identifying info”.
The “good Samaritan” used Cameron’s account number, written on his credit card, in order to make four separate 1p transfers into his account.

Put together, the reference numbers for the transfers made up the information Cameron needed to retrieve his wallet – including, vitally, the stranger’s phone number.
I just lost my wallet on the way home from work. I didn't have much identifying info in there so a good Samaritan got in touch with my via my... bank account 🤯

My Dad found a Kindle.
No way to see owner's email.
Amazon support no help.
Owner had another device in her a/c.
He renamed the found device "Call XXX", and moved to "last position" of the book she was reading.
She saw prompt, "Would you like to resume from…?"

She inadvertently donated the precious jewellery to her local tip, Five Lanes Household Waste and Recycling Centre, along with 15 bags of rubbish in a clear-out.
Against the odds, tip workers Rhys and Darren managed to rediscover the missing ring, sifting through hundreds of bags of waste over a period of 45 minutes in order to recover it.
