Margot Robbie has spoken out about her anger at being asked when she is going to have a baby now that she is married. The actress – who tied the knot two years ago – says she is fed up of being questioned about if and when she might decide to have a child.

"I'm so angry that there's this social contract," she told The Radio Times. "You're married, now have a baby. I'll do what I'm going to do."

The actress touched on the way in which her most recent film role has made her consider these pressures on women. In Mary, Queen of Scots, Elizabeth I (the character Robbie plays) is pressured to produce an heir, something which Robbie says really angered her.

"How dare some old guy dictate what I can and can't do when it comes to motherhood," she said.

Robbie is not the first actress to have spoken out on these pressures in recent months. Jennifer Aniston commented in an interview late last year that she was fed up of being asked about having children.

"We live in a society that messages women: By this age, you should be married; by this age, you should have children...That's a fairy tale," she told Elle US. "That's the mould we're slowly trying to break out of. What quantifies happiness in someone's life isn't the ideal that was created in the '50s. It's not like you hear that narrative about any men."
