Meatheads in Champaign becoming Epic Burger
Sep. 27—CHAMPAIGN — Chicago-based Epic Burger has acquired all six Meatheads locations in Illinois, including the one at 1305 S. Neil St., C.
The acquisition, finalized Sept. 15, boosted Epic Burger's presence to 11 locations in the state.
A 15-year-old chain, Epic Burger says it offers a "more mindful burger." It's beef and chicken are Halal-certified and it uses bacon that's nitrate-free.
The menu also includes, in addition to burgers, a grilled chicken sandwich, a Beyond Burger, turkey burger and fish sandwich.
"We are thrilled to be adding more locations in the Chicago area and other parts of the state," said Epic Burger President David Grossman. "In just 15 years, we've become a beloved burger destination in the city and the suburbs."
Signs and menu items will change at all the acquired Meatheads locations Dec. 1.
