On a per-share basis, the South Jordan, Utah-based company said it had net income of 44 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 75 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 65 cents per share.
The maker of disposable medical devices posted revenue of $315.2 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $306.2 million.
Merit Medical expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.93 to $2.99 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.24 billion to $1.25 billion.
