Get ready campers! Minecraft, Mattel and CycloneDesigns have teamed up to release a fully immersive gameplay experience with Camp Enderwood, the brand-new in-game Downloadable Content (DLC) map, from the Minecraft Creator Series.

Even better, Minecraft fans can bring the new content to life with a cute, creepy and totally collectible line of toys that not only correspond to the DLC, but enhance the playing experience with corresponding content that can be downloaded from the toys to the game. Sounds cool? It is!

What's Camp Enderwood?

Like the summer camp experience, we all know and remember, Camp Enderwood is a place for players to explore, make friends and test their mettle in skill-building games like archery, parkour, horseback riding, disco dancing, trampolining, s'mores-making and more.

Unlike most DLCs, Camp Enderwood has been a dynamic screen-to-real-life play experience concept from the start. While you can absolutely play the game without the toys, having them makes everything more fun—especially for kid gamers.

The idea of taking the toys to the in-game camp was born from the toy-creating minds at Mattel. What you’ll see is a line of toys that isn’t just reflective of the game, but a full extension of the playable experience. Each toy is fully customizable with interchangeable clothing, costumes and accessories (think Minecraft skins) and each comes with its own scannable code that allows players to bring the concepts and pieces from the packaged product into the game.

“It was fun making these figures and then deciding what accessories in the toys you can carry into the game through DLC code. That was… something brand new for us to do within the toy, which is unique and different,” says Brad Harris, Lead Designer at Mattel.

Right now only a small portion of the characters have been released for purchase, but players can expect the toy-to-game experience to continue with subsequent releases this spring and beyond.

Like a real summer camp experience, there’s always a bit of mystery, possible peril and maybe a few monsters (that may or may not be born of our imaginations) lurking in the woods and beyond.

From a mountaintop Yeti to the watery depths Swamp Monster and Sunken Spirit (why are summer camp ponds and lakes always so creepy?) to the woodland Moth Monster, campers should be wary of what they may encounter when exploring on their own.

Minecraft Creator Series Camp Enderwood DLC map is free and just launched today on the Minecraft Marketplace. Though free to download, the Minecraft Creator Series Camp Enderwood DLC requires Minecraft: Bedrock Edition to gain access.
