On the Move: Tracking the Ins and Outs of California Lawyers



Five attorneys from Buter, Buzard, Fishbein & Royce joined Blank Rome’s matrimonial and family law group. Partners Kristina Royce and Ashley Silberfeld, of counsel Glenn Buzard, and associates Jacqueline Combs and Ali Fishbein will be based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Troutman Sanders promoted Christine Byrnes to partner in the capital projects and infrastructure office. Byrnes focuses her practice on financing, development, acquisition and restructuring of energy projects. Byrnes splits time between the Orange County and San Francisco offices.

Fisher & Phillips promoted five attorneys in California. Philip Azzara, Lizbeth Ochoa and Spencer Waldron in the Irvine office have been promoted to partner. In Los Angeles, Zack Domb and Andrew Hoag have been promoted to partner.

Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld hired Alexander Gourse as an associate in the general and complex civil litigation practice. His experience focuses on civil rights, employment, business and attorney fees cases. Gourse is based in San Francisco.

Hanson Bridgett promoted six attorneys in San Francisco, and also appointed Kristina Lawson as the chairwoman of the real estate and environment practice. Six attorneys were promoted to partner: Michelle Akerman and Brian Schnarr in the construction group, Jillian Donovan in the health care group, Jennifer Martinez in the labor and employment group, Liz Masson in the employee benefits group, and Anita Zerounian in the real estate group.

Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell promoted three associates to partner in January. Jamie Ogden in the taxation and trusts and estates practice, David Ma in the corporate practice, and Andrew Shadoff in the litigation practice. All three attorneys are based in the Los Angeles office.

Keker, Van Nest & Peters promoted four associates to partner in California: Nicholas Goldberg, Thomas Gorman, Elizabeth McCloskey and Erin Meyer. Goldberg and McCloskey both focus their practice on high-stakes civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense, Gorman specializes on complex civil litigation, and Meyer represents clients in complex commercial litigation. All four attorneys are based in San Francisco.

Norton Rose Fulbright promoted two attorneys to partner in January. James Berger and Amanda Rosenberg both focus their practices in the energy industry and are based in Los Angeles.

Perkins Coie promoted five attorneys to partner, five attorneys to counsel, and one attorney to senior counsel in California. Sunita Bali in San Francisco, Harvey Chen and Victoria Smith in Palo Alto, Lara Dueppen in Los Angeles, and Patrick McKeever in San Diego were promoted to partner. Alberto Araiza in Palo Alto, Mara Boundy and Mike LaPlante in San Francisco, and Catherine Del Prete and Alisha Burgin in Los Angeles were promoted to counsel. Philip Morin in San Diego has been promoted to senior counsel.

Baker & Hostetler brought on Eric Sagerman as office managing partner in Los Angeles. Sagerman’s practice focuses on restructuring and representing clients in large and complex corporate restructuring matters. Previously, Sagerman was managing partner at Winston & Strawn’s Los Angeles office.
