Oregon WR Darren Carrington arrested for DUI, indefinitely suspended
Oregon wide receiver Darren Carrington has been indefinitely suspended from the team following a Saturday morning DUI arrest.
Per the Oregonian, Eugene police said Carrington had a run-in with the drive-thru lane at a McDonald’s.
Carrington was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Saturday after allegedly colliding with a drive-through at a McDonald’s at 659 E. Broadway near downtown Eugene, according to Eugene police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin.
Carrington was booked into Lane County jail at 5:28 a.m. and left at approximately 6:30 a.m. after bail of $590 was posted on his behalf, according to jail officials.

Oregon coach Willie Taggart said Carrington was suspended from the team indefinitely following his arrest, though the wide receiver left a message with a photo on his Instagram page that said he would miss his “brothers.”

This isn’t Carrington’s first suspension while at Oregon. He was suspended for the Ducks’ College Football Playoff Championship Game loss to Ohio State in 2015 after he failed a drug test. He was also accused of pushing a man and breaking the man’s arm in October of 2016 while dressed up as the Joker from Batman.
After the alleged pushing incident, then-Oregon offensive coordinator Matt Lubick said the team was handling Carrington’s discipline “internally.”
Carrington was one of Oregon’s best receivers in 2016. He had 43 catches for 606 yards and five touchdowns. His 606 yards led the team and he was second on the team in catches. He’s set to be a senior in 2017.
