Orion Engineered Carbons: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

SENNINGERBERG, Luxembourg (AP) _ Orion Engineered Carbons SA (OEC) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $52.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Senningerberg, Luxembourg-based company said it had net income of 87 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 68 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 52 cents per share.

The producer of the chemcial additive carbon black posted revenue of $391.6 million in the period.

Orion Engineered Carbons shares have climbed 28 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 58 percent in the last 12 months.
