We have an early entrant for Knucklehead of the Week.

According to TMZ, Green Bay Packers receiver Trevor Davis got arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday after making a bomb joke at the ticket counter.

Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reports that Davis and a female companion were checking in for a flight on Hawaiian Airlines when an attendant began asking them the now-customary questions we all get when checking in for a flight.

When asked about their luggage, Davis inexplicably looked at the woman he was traveling with and said, “Did you remember to pack the explosives?”

Good grief.

His companion apparently replied “no,” and, showing she was the one with the sense in the couple, tried to get Davis to stop. Davis said, “Just kidding,” but it was too late.

Police were called immediately, and Davis was taken into custody for misdemeanor criminal threats. He was booked and released.

The Packers released a statement, saying, “We are aware of the matter involving Trevor Davis. We are in the process of gathering more information and will refrain from making any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter.”

The 163rd pick in the 2016 draft out of Cal, Davis played in all 16 games last season, with 24 catches for 289 yards.
