HOUSTON (AP) _ Parker Drilling Co. (PKD) on Monday reported a loss of $71 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of $7.70. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $2.99 per share.

The drilling contractor and oilfield services company posted revenue of $123.4 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $2.66. A year ago, they were trading at $15.89.
