TWST: What's the competitive landscape like, and what do you see as some of your competitive advantages?
Mr. Hoetzinger: Our management style and the international diversity help to attract great staff and cooperators; today we employ over 1,600 people from 32 nationalities, 51% of them female. The experience and diversity of our people enables us to adapt our management style to the respective local situations and cultures, and that gives all our casinos that special, local flavor and character worldwide.
My Co-CEO and Co-Founder of the company, Erwin Haitzmann, and I are fast decision makers, and we have a strong focus on delivering a quality product with consistent customer service throughout our portfolio of casinos. Century Casinos' entertainment resorts harmoniously fit into the social and architectural structure of their surroundings and cater to the local population as well as visitors and tourists. As I mentioned, we have one of the strongest balance sheets in the casino industry.
We have just recently been voted "Best Casino in Denver" for the second year in a row. It is very satisfying in that it validates Century's guest-service focus and the player loyalties we are able to establish. In 2011, we finished second only to Ameristar, the leader in the Colorado casino market, and in 2012 we beat them in the voting. Having again won the title of "Best Casino in Denver" helps fuel the pride of our employees in the Century Casinos brand, and we use the recognition in all internal and external marketing of the Century Casinos brand in Colorado.
TWST: Can you summarize the performance of your properties over the last year or so? What trends are you seeing in visitation and spending?
