Refiner Valero says Red Sea attacks have raised freight costs

Jan 25 (Reuters) - U.S. refiner Valero Energy said on Thursday the Red Sea attacks have led to a rise in freight rates for crude oil.

"We are not really running crude from that region. So it hasn't really had an impact to us in terms of supply of crude. But the big impact, especially on the crude side of the business has just been freight rates," Chief Operating Officer Gary Simmons said in a call with investors.
