Retail gasoline prices rise 1 cent across Texas

Texas AAA survey finds retail gasoline prices rise 1 cent this week statewide

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Retail gasoline prices across Texas edged up slightly but continue to remain much lower than this time last year.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the statewide average price at the pump increased 1 cent to $3.12 per gallon. That's 40 cents less per gallon than what drivers statewide were paying on Oct. 17, 2012.

Drivers in Amarillo and Texarkana are paying the most at $3.16 per gallon, and drivers in Galveston are paying the least at $3.05.

The average price nationally stood at $3.36.

Sufficient gas supplies, a lower demand for fuel and refineries' traditional seasonal transition to cheaper, winter-blend fuel production all have helped lower prices.
