Sasha Obama Got Some Very Sweet Parent Posts for Her 20th Birthday

Sasha Obama, currently a college student at the University of Michigan, also just happens to be the daughter of former president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, and her parents posted throwback pictures and sweet messages online to celebrate her recent birthday.

Sasha, who was born in 2001 (I know!), turned 20 on June 10. Her dad, our former commander-in-chief, posted a picture of her as a smiling youngster in his arms to social media, writing, “Happy birthday, Sasha! You’ve grown so much, and it’s been a joy to watch you become the person we always hoped you’d be. Your mom and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next.”

Sasha’s mom, Becoming author Michelle Obama, chose a similar snap, of kid Sasha sitting on her mother’s lap during a family boat trip. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my darling Sasha! I am so grateful for every laugh we’ve shared—and everything you’ve taught me over the years. You’ll always be my little girl, but I couldn’t be prouder of the woman you are becoming. Love you so much! 🎉🥳💗”

Neither Sasha nor her big sister Malia have public or official social media accounts, but we imagine there's a private group chat someplace where Malia is posting embarrassing candids, because that is, by law, what siblings are supposed to do. No, really. President Obama himself signed the papers.

This is honestly typical of the family, which often commemorates anniversaries and notable dates online with heartfelt posts. For Michelle’s most recent birthday, Barack shared a picture of her as a young woman seemingly on vacation and looking, let's just be honest here, like a full smoke show. He wrote, “Happy birthday to my love, my partner, and my best friend. Every moment with you is a blessing. Love you, Miche.”

We get it! Everyone in this family loves each other! I mean uh…happy birthday, Sasha Obama.
