Schultz to step down as Wesley House director June 30

Mar. 28—The Rev. David Schultz will step down from his role as executive director of Wesley House Meridian effective June 30, according to a news release provided by the organization.

Having first taken over as executive director in August 2017, Shultz has led Wesley House for more than six years, partnering with countless other organizations and individuals to continue and grow the nonprofit's programs and mission in the East Mississippi area.

Taking over for Schultz will be Brandy Rea, LPC-S, BC-TMH, who has served as assistant executive director and clinical director since June 2016.

"Brandy is looking forward to continuing the work of Wesley House's mission and programs of Christian Relief, Education, Child Advocacy Center, and Sexual Assault Crisis Center," Wesley House said in a news release.

Schultz and Rea have worked together for the duration of Shultz's tenure, and both have played key roles in expanding the organization's footprint and growing its ability to help those in need.

"Rev. Schultz and Rea have worked alongside one another over the last 7 years focusing on strengthening and growing the reach and impact of Wesley House in the community," Wesley House said. "Over the last 7 years, Wesley House has reached several milestones and achievements, including opening a satellite office in Philadelphia providing Child Advocacy and Sexual Assault Crisis services."

A public reception honoring Schultz is set for 2-5 p.m. on May 3 at the Wesley House Community Center.
