NEW YORK (AP) — NEW YORK (AP) — Shake Shack Inc. (SHAK) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $6.8 million.

The New York-based company said it had profit of 15 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 2 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was breakeven on a per-share basis.

The burger chain posted revenue of $286.2 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $279.8 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $19.8 million, or 47 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.09 billion.
