Small retailers avoid Amazon

Many small and midsize businesses are not selling their goods and services on eBay (EBAY) and Amazon (AMZN), in favor of going it alone, a survey released by ChannelAdvisor (ECOM), an e-commerce services company found. It says the smaller sellers are making a mistake by not hooking up with the big sites. In its poll of 192 small and midsize retailers, ChannelAdvisor found 48% sell their products on eBay and 43% list their goods on Amazon. Amazon shares fell 1.4% to 358.16, while eBay rose 0.7% to 51.97.
