HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) — HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Sonoco Products Co. (SON) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $81.2 million.

The Hartsville, South Carolina-based company said it had profit of 82 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.02 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.07 per share.

The packaging maker posted revenue of $1.64 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $475 million, or $4.80 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.78 billion.

For the current quarter ending in March, Sonoco expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.05 to $1.15.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.10 to $5.40 per share.
