Sprint: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Sprint Corp. (S) on Thursday reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of $141 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.

The wireless carrier posted revenue of $8.6 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Twelve analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $8.4 billion.

Sprint shares have increased nearly 4 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 14 percent in the last 12 months.
