Winners and losers

Stocks in the red include SunPower as BofA Merrill Lynch downgrades shares to Underperform citing concern over the impact of tariffs to SunPower’s premium businesses; Arconix as Longbow Research downgraded the company formerly know as Alcoa to Neutral from Buy; and Akorn, with shares of the generic drugmaker tumbling after Germany’s Fresenius Medical Care dropped its planned $5 billion takeover after a probe into possible data breaches.

Stocks in the green include Merck following a rare double-upgrade by Goldman to Conviction Buy, citing its Keytruda lung cancer breakthrough; Box as Social Capital’s Chamath Palihapitiya revealed at Sohn that Box is his favorite AI stock idea; and Sears Holding, as the troubled retailer gets a small pop as CEO Eddie Lampert’s ESL Investments will buy Sears’s Kenmore appliances unit, its home improvement business, and some of the chain’s real estate.
