Siyata Mobile (NASDAQ:SYTA) reported 3rd quarter 2023 results on August 14th which showed revenues declining 28.3% to $1.8 million. Sales of cellular boosters and accessories increased approximately 8.5% while sales of rugged handsets declined 42.5% in the quarter. This decline occurred was primarily driven by moving from “non-stock” status to “stock” status with a major U.S. carrier partner during the quarter. This stock position status is a significant achievement for the company, which very few device suppliers have ever achieved. A stock status means that this carrier is now able to market and subsidize the SD7 handset to many more customers. A customer now has the choice to purchase an SD7 handset over an extended time frame instead of the full price upfront, which should increase total sales.

Gross profit in the quarter was $490,000 (26.6% gross margin) compared to $856,000 (33.3% gross margin). The decrease in gross profit dollars and margin was primarily driven by the decrease in sales of rugged and in-vehicle cellular devices at higher margins compared to the margins sold on legacy rugged devices.

Adjusted EBITDA was ($1.57) million, which was roughly flat compared to ($1.58) million in the prior year period. Net loss was ($1.85) million compared to a net loss of ($0.53) million in the same period in the prior year.

As of September 30, 2023, the company had cash balances of $366,155 million and working capital of $3.7 million. There was $531,521 of outstanding debt. During the first nine months of 2023, the company raised approximately $8.1 million in equity capital. After the end of the 3rd quarter, the company issued 1.87 million common shares and 530,000 pre-funded warrants for gross proceeds of $1.6 million.

CEO and Founder Marc Seelenfreund stated, “Year-to-date, we have grown our revenue by 45% compared to the same period last year on increasing sales of our mission-critical, Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) solution. Demand for reliable, high-quality communication solutions is strong, and we are well positioned with an expanding reseller network and partnerships with Tier-1 cellular providers to capture additional market share. During the third quarter, we experienced slight order delays as we transitioned from non-stocked to stocked status with a large U.S. wireless carrier, which resulted in lower sales. Importantly, we believe this was a temporary decline isolated to the third quarter as recent orders indicate fourth quarter sales are off to a solid start. Looking ahead, the size and quality of our new business pipeline reinforces our optimism for future growth.

Valuation and Estimates

Based on the 3rd quarter results and management commentary, we adjust our 2023 revenue estimate to $8.8 million and adjust our 2023 EPS estimate to a loss of ($17.43). Our 2024 estimates are approximately $15.1 million in revenues and an EPS loss of ($1.69).

We believe Siyata Mobile is on track to generate strong double-digit revenue growth rates going forward. We expected overall gross margins to increase steadily from current levels as volume levels increase.

Our primary valuation tool utilizes a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) process and incorporates a relatively high discount rate to account for uncertainties in the timing of the company achieving net profitability. We believe that revenue growth rates could average 20%-22% over the next 10 years and that consolidated gross margins could reach 35% by 2026.

Under this scenario, we arrive at a price target of $1.00 for SYTA stock, which is a decrease from prior targets due to the additional dilution from equity capital raises in 2023 and the potential for future equity issuances. $1.00 is also the liquidation value for the company as the tangible book value per share is approximately $1.10 as of the end of the 3rd quarter of 2023.
