BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) _ TherapeuticsMD Inc. (TXMD) on Thursday reported a loss of $39.4 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Boca Raton, Florida-based company said it had a loss of 17 cents.

The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 17 cents per share.

The woman's health care product company posted revenue of $5.1 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $132.6 million, or 59 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $16.1 million.

TherapeuticsMD shares have increased 34 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $5.09, declining slightly in the last 12 months.
