TORONTO (AP) _ Thomson Reuters Corp. (TRI) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $562 million.

The Toronto-based company said it had profit of $1.13 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 54 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.

The news and financial information company posted revenue of $1.62 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.12 billion, or $2.25 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.98 billion.

Thomson Reuters shares have fallen nearly 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen nearly 2% in the last 12 months.
