Top NFT game Axie Infinity generated $1.3B in revenue last year
Top non-fungible token (NFT) game Axie Infinity generated US$1.3 billion in revenue over the past year, reaching a daily peak of US$17.5 million on Aug. 6, 2021, according to a new report from blockchain analytics firm Nansen.

Over 2.8 million unique addresses hold more than 11 million Axies, the game’s NFTs that players breed and battle, with 97% holding the minimum threshold of three Axies required to play the game.
Axie tokens SLP and AXS are trading down at least 70% from their respective all-time highs as user growth declined late last year partly due to its costly barrier to entry, leading to lower profits for players.
Axie is set to launch its V3 update by the end of Q1 2022, which has been announced to include a set of free starter Axies in an attempt to onboard new players.
