Twitter Can’t Stop Laughing at How Bella Hadid Was Named the Most Beautiful Woman in the World Over Beyoncé

From Cosmopolitan

  • Bella Hadid was just named the most beautiful woman in the world by a cosmetic surgeon.

  • Beyoncé came in second place, and people are not happy about the comparison.

Yesterday, Bella Hadid and Beyoncé were minding their own business when some cosmetic surgeon from London decided to stir the pot and use “proprietary face-mapping technology” to deem Bella the most beautiful woman in the world. Beyoncé came in second, and all hell broke loose on Twitter.

So basically this Dr. Julian De Silva guy took some ancient Greek beauty standards that claim symmetrical faces are the most beautiful in the world and paired it with some technology that mapped celebrities’ faces. In using these outdated standards and technology to rank women, he found that Bella is the “gold standard” of a woman and that Beyoncé is runner-up.

The surgeon also added that Beyoncé “looks incredibly as she approaches her 40s” but he took away points for her eyebrows and chin, which is truly the most insane thing I’ve ever heard. On the flip side, Bella’s chin is apparently the hottest thing since sliced bread.

Other celebs on the majority-white list include Amber Heard, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Kate Moss, Natalie Portman, and a tree Scarlett Johansson. In case you needed another reason to want to throw this list in the garbage, just know that Rihanna isn’t even on it!

Predictably, Twitter is pissed that people are still ranking women based on attractiveness and is calling out the surgeon for using outdated and close-minded beauty standards and for releasing this list, which is seriously lacking in diversity.

So yeah, that’s what’s (rightfully) upsetting Twitter this morning. Now, let’s all carry on with our days, leave Beyoncé and Bella alone, and ignore everything this doc just said about beauty and chins. All chins are beautiful!
