Following the missile strike, many Russians left comments on social networks praising the atrocity, while many called the incident a fake.

"Sickening to see Russian reactions to the Kremenchuk shopping mall strike," Kuleba tweeted on June 28.

"Ordinary Russians cheer on social media. Russian diplomats and officials spread insane conspiracy theories, denying that the strike even happened. Russia is a country of murderers and patent liars."

At least 18 people were killed after Russia launched the missile strike on the Amstor shopping mall in Kremenchuk on June 27. Some 36 people are still missing.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that "the number of victims is impossible to even imagine."

The president said that the strike had no strategic value for the Russian army and thus the aggressor country continues to vent its anger on civilians.
