SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — United Therapeutics Corp. (UTHR) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $217.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Silver Spring, Maryland-based company said it had profit of $4.36.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.92 per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $614.7 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $561.8 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $984.8 million, or $19.81 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.33 billion.
