Universal Electronics: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) _ Universal Electronics Inc. (UEIC) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $959,000.

The Santa Ana, California-based company said it had profit of 7 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 69 cents per share.

The remote control maker posted revenue of $182.7 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in December, Universal Electronics expects its per-share earnings to range from 70 cents to 80 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $180 million to $188 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Universal Electronics shares have fallen 33 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $31.67, a fall of 39 percent in the last 12 months.
