WEC Energy Group, the utilities' parent company on Tuesday announced Michael Hooper, president and chief operating officer of Northern Indiana Public Service Co., will become president of the utilities effective April 1.

Hooper will take over a position that has been filled by WEC Energy Group President and CEO Scott Lauber since the utilities' former president and CEO, Tom Metcalfe, left at the end of 2021.

Hooper will be responsible for the utilities' electric and gas distribution businesses, customer service, power generation and major projects. He will report to Lauber.
