SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Zscaler Inc. (ZS) on Thursday reported a loss of $28.5 million in its fiscal second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 76 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 58 cents per share.

The cloud-based information security provider posted revenue of $525 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Thirteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $507.6 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, Zscaler expects its per-share earnings to range from 64 cents to 65 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $534 million to $536 million for the fiscal third quarter.

Zscaler expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.73 to $2.77 per share, with revenue expected to be $2.12 billion.
