Capital One to buy Discover, Home Depot reports: Yahoo Finance Live
It's merger Tuesday on Wall Street today. In a massive deal in the credit space, Capital One (COF) will acquire Discover Financial Services (DFS) in a $35 billion all-stock deal. The deal, if approved, should close later this year or early 2025. In the retail space, Walmart (WMT) announced plans to acquire TV maker Vizio (VZIO) in a $2.3 billion cash deal. On the earnings front, we are hearing from several top names this morning including Home Depot (HD), Walmart (WMT), and Medtronic (MDT). Home Depot earnings topped estimates, but sales outlook is dragging on shares. Yahoo Finance trending tickers include NVIDIA (NVDA), Tesla (TSLA), and Intel (INTC).
