JOSH LIPTON: Time now for what to watch Friday, January 19. On the housing front, existing-home sales are out at 10:00 AM Eastern. Expected to edge higher from November. Report giving us more insight into a housing market where home builders are confident but home buyers still struggling amid high prices and tight inventories.

MADISON MILLS: And we're also going to get a look at consumer sentiment, which is expected to hold steady from December. The market has also been keeping a keen eye on consumer inflation expectations. That's forecast to show that consumers' one-year outlook for inflation will hold at 3.1%.

JOSH LIPTON: And on to the Fed. A few Fed officials will be speaking, and investors will be listening for more clues about the path of Fed rate cuts. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee is slated to make a TV appearance in the morning, and then in the afternoon, we're going to hear from Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr and San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly.

MADISON MILLS: And moving over to earnings, more regional banks reporting tomorrow, including Comerica, Ally Financial, and Huntington Bancshares, all for the fourth quarter of 2023.
