FOMC meeting minutes, job openings, earnings: What to watch
On Wednesday, Richmond Federal Reserve President Tom Barkin will be speaking in North Carolina. Barkin is the first Federal Reserve official to share their economic outlook in 2024.
The minutes from the December FOMC meeting will be released at 2pm E.T.. In the morning, the November Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey will be released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) , SimulationsPlus (SLP), and Resources Connection (RGP) will be releasing earnings this week.

JOSH LIPTON: Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond President Tom Barkin speaking tomorrow in North Carolina, giving us our first economic outlook from the Fed in 2024. And that coming ahead of the minutes from the Fed's December meeting, which are due out at 2:00 PM Eastern.
We'll also be getting a look at the labor market, the latest US job openings data for November from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, coming out tomorrow morning. We're expecting to see a slight uptick from October's number, which was the lowest number of job openings seen during a month since March 2021.
And moving over to the earnings front. Cal Maine Foods reporting second quarter earnings for 2024, that's after the bell. The egg-producing giant looking to bounce back from a bird flu outbreak at one of its facilities last month.
