SEANA SMITH: We will be getting the latest job openings report from the Labor Department. Economists expect the numbers from July will hold steady around 9.6 million for the third month in a row. It comes ahead of Friday's jobs report, which will give the Fed more insight into the labor market ahead of its meeting next month.

Investors will get another read on the consumer with the latest data on consumer confidence. The report follows a mixed earnings season for retailers with a number calling out a cautious consumer and a slowdown in spending. Now, before the opening bell, we will get earnings from Best Buy, J.M. Smucker, and Big Lots.

It's been a tough year for Best Buy, the stock down nearly 8%. Margins have been squeezed amid declining sales and also higher inventory. And after the bell, we will get a closer look at the tech sector. We will be getting earnings from HP, HP Enterprise, and Box.
