Severe Storms and Strong Winds Down Trees Near Dallas

Severe storms moving through northern and central Texas brought strong winds to the area on Sunday, October 20, and continued overnight, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area on Sunday, noting the possibility of winds up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. The NWS said a tornado touched down in northern Dallas on Sunday, damaging buildings, toppling trees, and cutting power to thousands.
